They also weren’t happy about how long it had taken to get a new product in place. The investigator’s view was that Halifax wasn’t contractually required to tell Ms R and Mr S about the new monthly payment figure once the mortgage moved onto the variable rate as they weren’t paying by direct debit. She didn’t think Halifax needed to do more as all the information was in the mortgage offer, and noted that it didn’t charge interest on the arrears.Credit file reporting
