In the Ombudsman’s words
Ms N complains that Al Rayan Bank PLC gave her incorrect information from the start about her application for a Home Purchase Plan and that the application took too long. Ms N says that if she had got the right information she wouldn’t have paid a number of fees.Charges and fees
Al Rayan instructed a valuer on 18 May and received the valuer’s report on 6 June. The bank sent the application to its underwriters the same day but they didn’t commence an assessment until 10 July because of a backlog.Mortgage administration

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN9792512.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
