What this decision was about
Unauthorised transaction, Card dispute or chargeback
In the Ombudsman’s words
Mrs E has indicated that the payment arrangement was misrepresented and fraudulent and that this means her payment was unauthorised. However, I do not find it unusual for a third party payment handler to be involved in processing a payment. And I am satisfied that the payment eventually reached the supplier as Mrs E intended. I am not satisfied that the payment was unauthorised in this instance.Unauthorised transaction
Mrs E complains that Santander Cards UK Limited will not consider her claim for breach and/or misrepresentation under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.Card dispute or chargeback

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN8275469.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
