What this decision was about

Funds blocked or frozen, Complaint handling

In the Ombudsman’s words

held back funds in her bank accountFunds blocked or frozen
I’ve looked at Ms R’s statement from the time and I’ve seen that on the Thursday there was a payment in of £600 which brought her balance to just over £600. But two standing orders went out of her account on the first working day after Easter for a total of £1,000. So when the £600 was paid in, there wasn’t enough money in the account to cover the standing orders.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN6990271.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
