They say a family friend was assisting them in setting up anti-virus software on their computer. Mr E says the friend told him to complete the setup he needed Mr E’s current account security information, including the card, PIN1, and card reader. Mr E gave his friend the items on two separate occasions. However, it turned out the friend had used the details to transfer large amounts out of Mr and Mrs E’s account.Unauthorised transaction
Barclays has offered Mr and Mrs E £50 compensation in respect of the time the bank’s taken to deal with their complaint.Complaint handling
