What this decision was about
Mortgage administration, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
Mr and Mrs N complained because The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc (RBS) wasn’t willing to extend their mortgage for an extra two years after the end of the term.Mortgage administration
I have also considered Mr and Mrs N’s many points about the responses and service they had from RBS during the process. I find that £100 compensation was sufficient, and I don’t require the bank to do more.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN3021964.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
