Financial Ombudsman decision DRN8942125 Not upheld

Thu Jul 07deadline to accept (not the decision date)
The Ombudsman does not print a decision date. The date above is the deadline the consumer was given to accept or reject the decision, which is set about a month after it was issued. It is reliable to the year, not to the month.
What this decision was about
Account closed or refused, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
NatWest made a commercial decision not to renew the overdraftAccount closed or refused
I can see that a repayment plan, lasting two months, was agreed. After this the account was returned to normal management. NatWest’s policy is also to transfer other business accounts at the same time- even if specialist management is not required for these. It didn’t make this clear but in my view has paid reasonable compensation for this.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN8942125.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
