Sat Jun 08deadline to accept (not the decision date)
The Ombudsman does not print a decision date. The date above is the deadline the consumer was given to accept or reject the decision, which is set about a month after it was issued. It is reliable to the year, not to the month.
What this decision was about
Credit file reporting, Card dispute or chargeback
In the Ombudsman’s words
I’ve seen Mr F’s account had been running in arrears for some months before these payments were taken and that this notice related to these earlier problems, not the payments on the 18 November. On that basis I can’t agree the notice was registered unfairly or that it should be removed now.Credit file reporting
It would have been open to Mr F to ask Barclays to raise a chargeback in respect of the three payments but I can’t see that he did so at the time and under the rules of the chargeback scheme, it’s now out of time to do so.Card dispute or chargeback

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN8912492.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
