What this decision was about

Payment delayed or failed

In the Ombudsman’s words

Mr C complains about Bank of Scotland plc’s handling of a faster payment from his current account to a savings account held with another provider. He tried several times to make an immediate payment but was unable to do so. As a result, Mr C says, the payment was made by standard transfer, which took longer and caused a loss.Payment delayed or failed

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN8888436.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
