What this decision was about

Support for vulnerable customers, Service failure

In the Ombudsman’s words

Barclays could’ve dealt with Mr B better on occasions. For example it gave him some incorrect information, didn’t make entirely clear whether he could pay off some of his balance and delayed a balance transfer. It also could’ve also done more to recognise and respond to Mr B’s vulnerability.Support for vulnerable customers
Barclay’s failings and poor service undoubtedly caused Mr B some distress and inconvenience.Service failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN7683410.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
