What this decision was about

Credit file reporting, Mortgage administration

In the Ombudsman’s words

Miss D has supplied me with a copy of her credit report which shows some late payment s to Santander from June 2012. I find that, to the extent that these resulted from Santander’s error, they are an unfair reflection on her credit status and ought to be removed.Credit file reporting
Miss D complains that Santander UK Plc transferred direct debit and standing order mandates to her new Santander account without her permission and, as she did not have sufficient money in this account, those payments were not honoured.Mortgage administration

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN7256835.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
