What this decision was about
Card dispute or chargeback, Support for vulnerable customers
In the Ombudsman’s words
Mr C complained that Nationwide Building Society didn’t make reasonable adjustments when he wanted to submit a chargeback claim.Card dispute or chargeback
I’ve seen nothing to show that Mr C informed Nationwide that he can’t use email. In fact there are lots of emails from Mr C on file. Nationwide accepted Mr C’s chargeback requests by email, because it understood he found difficulties in writing.Support for vulnerable customers

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN7199646.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
