What this decision was about
Charges and fees, Service failure
In the Ombudsman’s words
So I consider MBNA was entitled to charge late payment fees of £12, in accordance with the account terms and conditions.Charges and fees
MBNA’s service wasn’t good enough because it didn’t let Mr D know the new number for his account, it gave him wrong information about online access to his accounts and it told him it didn’t receive the letter sent in May 2015.Service failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN6584573.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
