Charges and fees, Support for vulnerable customers

In the Ombudsman’s words

I agree that Sainsbury’s Bank was entitled to deduct 58 days interest from Miss R’s early settlement rebate. But as the bank was aware that Miss R was in financial difficulties when she refinanced, I consider the bank shouldn’t have made this deduction.Charges and fees
Miss R complains that Sainsbury’s Bank Plc didn’t take her financial situation in to account when it rescheduled her loans.Support for vulnerable customers

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN5464497.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
