What this decision was about

Charges and fees, Support for vulnerable customers

In the Ombudsman’s words

Mrs J complains that MBNA Limited didn’t issue her with Notices of Sums in Arrears (NOSIAs) in 2014 and it hasn’t provided copies of the notices sent or provided proof they were sent. To settle matters she’d like the default fees and interest incurred since August 2014 refunded.Charges and fees
MBNA explained that it’d completed a review of those customers’ accounts that were identified as possibly being vulnerable. In Mrs J’s case she informed MBNA in late July 2014 about her health issues so it’s also refunded all charges and interest shown on her August 2014 statementSupport for vulnerable customers

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN5304539.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
