Mon Jun 10deadline to accept (not the decision date)

What this decision was about
Treatment in financial difficulty, Charges and fees
In the Ombudsman’s words
I am also satisfied that Kensington treated Mr H fairly when the account has been in arrears.Treatment in financial difficulty
Kensington provided Mr H with a residential mortgage offer – based on the broker’s application – and Mr H accepted that offer. Lenders generally charge residential mortgage customers an additional percentage if they want to rent out their properties. This is what Kensington did when it became aware the property was let out, and I can see that it refunded the 2% loading charge applied for the period when the property was empty.Charges and fees

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN3456003.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
