What this decision was about
Charges and fees, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
Argos identified that it had applied his refund to the wrong BNPL plan. That meant interest was applied to the outstanding balance a month sooner than it should have been.Charges and fees
I don’t think Argos has handled Mr T’s queries as well as it should have done. It took it several months to tell Mr T what items the transactions were for and wasn’t proactive in following this issue up with Mr TComplaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN2576579.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
