What this decision was about

Card dispute or chargeback, Complaint handling

In the Ombudsman’s words

Mr B has complained Virgin Money plc hasn’t refunded money he paid to a binary trading company.Card dispute or chargeback
I know Mr B feels he’s been a victim of fraud. I think that may well be the case and I’m really sorry about what’s happened. However I don’t think it would be fair to ask Virgin to refund him. They’ve offered to give Mr B £500 for their delay in responding to him. So I think they’ve dealt with his complaint fairly.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN1169249.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
