What this decision was about
Treatment in financial difficulty, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
MBL are aware that Mr D has been in a vulnerable financial situation. I would urge MBL to treat Mr D with the relevant forbearance in relation to any amounts outstanding on the agreement if applicable following the termination of the agreement.Treatment in financial difficulty
Mr D then explained he was unfortunately made redundant, and called MBL on 22 August 2025 to discuss his options as he said he could no longer afford the agreement. Mr D was told to contact the dealership to reject the vehicle.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-6451005.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
