What this decision was about
Card dispute or chargeback, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
I’m looking at the claims handling. I’m not a court so whilst I’ve had regard to the law including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (to act with reasonable care and skill etc), I’m not making a finding on whether there has actually been a breach of contract.Card dispute or chargeback
VB now accepts that it caused delays and offered Mr O £75 by way of compensation. But I think £150 as recommended by our investigator is a fair and reasonable way to settle this matter.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-6424536.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
