What this decision was about

Credit file reporting, Support for vulnerable customers

In the Ombudsman’s words

Virgin must also amend their credit file reporting for Ms C’s account accordingly.Credit file reporting
I do feel that Virgin handled the process of defaulting her account unfairly, because they didn’t adjust that process as I would fairly and reasonably expect them to have done in consideration of Ms C’s mental health to minimise the impact, as much as possible, on Ms C.Support for vulnerable customers

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-6327276.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
