In the Ombudsman’s words

Mrs H is being represented, by the (“representative”), in her complaint. Background Mrs H has had an overdraft on her HSBC current account since at least September 2012. In February 2025, Mrs H complained saying that she was irresponsibly provided with an overdraft which she was then allowed to continue using in a way that was unsustainable and which caused her continued financial difficulty.Irresponsible lending

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-5987336.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
