In the Ombudsman’s words

He says that the car broke down again after he’d collected the car and the recovery service took him to a different garage which diagnosed the same fault and another garage estimated in December 2023 that the repair cost would be £1,950.64. Mr K contacted Vanquis Bank about the payment of £1,294.17 and it considered a claim under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act but it said it didn’t find that there had been a misrepresentation and/or breach of contract by the repairing garage.Card dispute or chargeback

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-5647154.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
