Card dispute or chargeback, Complaint handling

In the Ombudsman’s words

He used the outbound flights but at least one of the return flights was cancelled so he claimed a refund from the airline. It refunded £395.50 to him and he then made a claim to Sainsbury’s Bank under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.Card dispute or chargeback
I don’t consider that it should have taken eleven months for Sainsbury’s Bank to have made a decision on Mr W’s claim and I agree with the investigator that that wasn’t the level of service that Mr W would reasonably have expected.Complaint handling

Rules cited

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-5099692.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
