What this decision was about

Card dispute or chargeback

In the Ombudsman’s words

Mrs E contacted the course provider (that I’ll call P) who didn’t agree there was a breach of contract or misrepresentation. In summary P said:- ... Mrs E didn’t agree with P’s version of events so she contacted Barclaycard and asked for a refund, under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (CCA). Barclaycard considered the evidence and declined the claim and Mrs E’s complaint - as it didn’t think there was enough to show a breach of contract or misrepresentation by P.Card dispute or chargeback

Rules cited

Consumer Credit Act 1974

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-4177746.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
