Santander had grounds to believe that Mr A had used fraudulently obtained funds based on the evidence it had. In light of this it closed the account in line with the terms and conditions.Account closed or refused
Santander said that it received a report that a credit for £1,600 paid into Mr A’s account on 7 January 2020 had been obtained fraudulently. The money had been withdrawn. It had considered Mr A’s explanation at the time but decided it had grounds to close his account and register the marker.Data and privacy
