What this decision was about

Charges and fees, Service failure

In the Ombudsman’s words

Mr H was dis-satisfied with this and brought his complaint to this service. One of our adjudicators looked into Mr H’s concerns and reached the conclusion that HSBC had caused some confusion with its correspondence but didn’t think it had caused major detriment and thought the £50 compensation was a fair way to settle the complaint.Charges and fees
HSBC has already acknowledged that its service wasn’t as good as it should’ve beenService failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-3528883.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
