What this decision was about
Funds blocked or frozen, Payment delayed or failed
In the Ombudsman’s words
NatWest decided to review Mr K’s account. Whilst it completed its review the bank restricted Mr K’s access to the account. This meant Mr K wasn’t able to use the money in it.Funds blocked or frozen
I find they have likely caused unreasonable delays and haven’t treated Mr K fairly. So, I’m currently minded to find they should pay Mr K £150 compensation for the trouble and upset he’s suffered.Payment delayed or failed

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-3194649.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
