What this decision was about
Charges and fees, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
Barclays has told us that it did advertise that it would waive three months of account fees, overdraft fees and overdraft interest from 13 March 2020 to assist its customers. I’ve seen copies of B’s statements and I can see these weren’t deducted as agreed by the bank.Charges and fees
The bank has acknowledged that it could have responded more quickly to one of B’s email enquiries and with the final response to B’s complaint - but it has apologised and offered £125 compensation.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-3079233.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
