What this decision was about
Charges and fees, Credit file reporting
In the Ombudsman’s words
The charges Argos apply when there are missed payments are detailed in the terms and conditions. Whilst I understand the £12 charge is greater than the payment that was missed I think it’s reasonable to say the charge is to reflect the administration required when payments aren’t received on time.Charges and fees
Mr R complains about the decision made by Home Retail Group Card Services Limited (“Argos”) to report a missed payment to his credit file.Credit file reporting

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-2747066.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
