What this decision was about
Charges and fees, Complaint handling
In the Ombudsman’s words
First Data considered the complaint and paid B £300. It recognised it had charged some fees for a service B hadn’t benefited from, so it refunded those (about £129.87).Charges and fees
Mr E didn’t think First Data had done enough to put things right. This was because he thought withholding customer payments had led to significant cash flow issues for B which meant it couldn’t buy stock and therefore couldn’t trade. He referred the matter to our service and for an independent review.Complaint handling

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-2283225.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
