What this decision was about

Irresponsible lending, Credit file reporting

In the Ombudsman’s words

I do think it was wrong for it to have allowed Miss C to continue to draw down on the account from 11 August 2018. This is because I think the way she was using the account indicated she wasn’t using it in a sustainable manner.Irresponsible lending
SNC should remove any adverse information recorded on Miss C’s credit file as a result of not stopping the facility from 11 August 2018 until the facility is closed.Credit file reporting

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-1778522.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
