Thu Jul 30deadline to accept (not the decision date)

The Ombudsman does not print a decision date. The date above is the deadline the consumer was given to accept or reject the decision, which is set about a month after it was issued. It is reliable to the year, not to the month.

What this decision was about

Charges and fees, Credit file reporting

In the Ombudsman’s words

He's also said he wasn't happy that the supplying dealer carried out repairs because as far as he was concerned he'd rejected the car already.Charges and fees
I don't think Secure Trust has acted unfairly by terminating the agreement in those circumstances. Secure Trust is under a duty to report accurate information about Mr A's account to the credit reference agencies. So I'm unable to say that the default has been incorrectly registered on Mr A's credit file.Credit file reporting

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-1706541.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
