What this decision was about
Payment delayed or failed, Service failure
In the Ombudsman’s words
Mr H deposited the cheque (via a cash deposit machine) on 26 March 2019. And while I appreciate the funds didn’t credit the account straight away (because the cheque was misplaced) NatWest did credit the account with the value of the cheque on 1 April 2019.Payment delayed or failed
Mr H is also unhappy with the service NatWest provided. He says he was passed to several departments and the NatWest staff members were rude to him when he tried to get an update.Service failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN6258670.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
