What this decision was about
Complaint handling, Service failure
In the Ombudsman’s words
Mr S didn’t accept the adjudicator’s conclusions and referred to his letter that mentioned cancelling the ‘direct debits’ for the particular company. He believes it should have therefore been clear he wanted both direct debits for that company cancelled.Complaint handling
He’s unhappy he didn’t get the cheque book he ordered and the direct debits he asked to cancel weren’t cancelled. He’s also unhappy that he’s not been able to access his online banking account.Service failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN4854449.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
