What this decision was about

Credit file reporting, Support for vulnerable customers

In the Ombudsman’s words

Ms H complains Monzo Bank Ltd has recorded her personal details with Cifas – a fraud prevention database - and won’t remove them.Credit file reporting
Ms H initially told us she opened the account, and it was intended to be used as a holiday account. She’s told us that she gave control of the account to her then husband. She’s suggested that, because of the nature of their relationship at the time, though she wasn’t physically coerced, her decision making was impaired which led to her opening the account and giving control of it to her husband – when she otherwise wouldn’t have done.Support for vulnerable customers

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-6190272.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
