Mr K complains that Bank of Ireland (UK) Plc trading as Post Office Financial Services (the Post Office), provided very poor service when he requested a transfer of funds from his savings account.Payment delayed or failed
The investigator said the Post Office’s staff weren’t aware of the check by its clearing bank until 15 December, when a complaint handler updated the clearing bank. This was followed by release of Mr K’s payment on 18 December 2023. She said Mr K didn’t always get called back as requested and spent time and effort chasing updates.Service failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-4847113.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
