Wed Sep 20deadline to accept (not the decision date)

What this decision was about
Treatment in financial difficulty, Service failure
In the Ombudsman’s words
Barclays said this meant a new account for M required. And in April 2022, the limited company opened an account with the bank. In November 2022, Mrs G closed her sole trader account and the BBL went into arrears.Treatment in financial difficulty
Mrs H has told us that Mrs G is in very poor health and she feels it is unfair of Barclays to keep writing to her in these circumstances. I’m sorry to hear of Mrs G’s illness. But I don’t think the bank’s correspondence has been excessive or unfair.Service failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-4816265.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
