In the Ombudsman’s words

HSBC said it was in the process of returning funds to Mr B’s account and said it was currently experiencing delays.Payment delayed or failed
I say this because Mr B made the initial transfer from his HSBC account on 15 June 2022. On 16 June 2022, HSBC received a SWIFT message from its correspondent bank stating that Mr B’s transaction had been cancelled... It is not clear what action, if any, was takenService failure

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-4190749.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
