What this decision was about
Treatment in financial difficulty, Credit file reporting
In the Ombudsman’s words
Mr M complains that Lloyds Bank PLC (‘Lloyds’) have wrongly registered a default on his account, after telling him that it would agree a payment holiday.Treatment in financial difficulty
While I can understand Mr M’s frustration at having worked for so long to avoid an impact upon his credit rating, which nevertheless resulted in a default, I am afraid that I do not think that the bank acted unfairly or unreasonably here.Credit file reporting

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-3459640.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
