What this decision was about

Credit file reporting, Payment delayed or failed

In the Ombudsman’s words

In addition, Creation should remove any adverse credit information relating to Mr J and which may have been recorded as a result of these events.Credit file reporting
Creation has not done enough to resolve Mrs J’s complaint. Since she did not receive the appliance paid for with the credit provided by Creation, she ought to be put in the position in which she would have been if she had not taken out that credit. So, as well as writing off the balance of the credit, Creation ought to refund the payments she made, with interest.Payment delayed or failed

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-3300081.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
