What this decision was about
Irresponsible lending, Support for vulnerable customers
In the Ombudsman’s words
The central part of Miss G’s complaint is about unaffordability.Irresponsible lending
I require Moneyway take action to re-possess the car which I believe is still legally theirs. Any money left in the value of the car should be removed from Miss G’s overall debt. Our investigator believed it was fair all the interest be removed from the debt as Miss G is vulnerable.Support for vulnerable customers

This page summarises the Ombudsman’s published final decision. The document itself is the record: DRN-3260391.pdf on financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
The outcome shown is the Ombudsman’s own published classification, not our reading of the text. Nothing here is legal advice, and a decision concerns only the complaint it was made about.
